It is a natural food stop if you're doing the Cathedral Rock Trail, the Bell Rock Trail, or any of the Village of Oak Creek area hikes. You finish the hike, drive north on AZ-179, and land at Hideaway House before the post-hike hunger gets worse.
The restaurant is genuinely hiker-friendly: hiking clothes are completely normal here, the portions are filling, prices are moderate by Sedona standards, and the open-air patios are a relaxed post-hike recovery environment. No one is going to seat you away from the best tables because your boots are dusty. This is not Mariposa.

The wood-fired pizzas are the standout: the margherita uses quality tomato sauce and good mozzarella, and the sausage-fennel pizza has the flavor combination right.
