Usery Mountain with Kids
The Wind Cave Trail at Usery Mountain Regional Park is generally the more kid-friendly of the park's two signature trails -- a moderate climb of a few miles round trip to a large natural rock overhang (not an actual cave) that most families can manage together with proper water, sun protection, and reasonable expectations about pace. The longer Pass Mountain Trail, looping roughly 7 miles around the mountain, is a bigger undertaking and generally better suited to older kids or more experienced young hikers rather than a first family outing.
